July is a fun time of year for summer shopping and enjoying the heat outdoors without breaking the bank.

Here are a few items worth buying this month to make that experience all the more enjoyable this summer while staying on budget.

Amazon Prime

Have an Amazon Prime subscription or thinking of getting one? Well, July is the best month for this service. Amazon hosts Amazon Prime Day every year in July discounting many of their products for their subscribers. This year Prime Day will be held for 2 days this year on July 15 and 16. I’m sure you will find a ton of deals but a lot them are more hype than deals so make sure to do your research before hitting that buy button

Swimwear and Summer Apparel

While it is typically advised not to buy clothing items during their season, swimwear and summer clothing is the exception in July. Many clothing stores hold what they call “Black Friday in July” sales as well as typical semi-annual sales in the summer. To name a few, shopping retail stores such as Old Navy can save you up to 60 percent off. At Hollister, you can shop for jeans for only $25 and summer apparel and swimwear at 25 percent off. At Macy’s, you can score 25 percent off on summer apparel items as well.

Outdoor Furniture

Many furniture companies gearing up for Labor Day sales and the coming fall. You can score discounted prices on outdoor and patio furniture in July. Many places feature outdoor furniture sales for the Fourth of July. Pier 1 has items discounted at up to 50 percent off. Lowe’s patio furniture is 25 percent off during the Fourth of July weekend.

Flights are always best to book way in advance for the cheapest price. In order to save the most for upcoming travel plans for labor day and the fall, book your flights in the month of July. Check out the Hopper prediction app to help find out when is the best time and price to get that deal.

School Supplies

Believe it or not, schools will be back in session before you know. A lot of schools start back up in late July to early August. That means you will start to see a ton of school supplies like backpacks, pencils, notebooks, paper, and the list goes on. Make sure to cash in on them as the sales will most likely be the lowest you will see for the year. Keep in mind just cause you are not in school does not mean school supplies cannot be used as office supplies.
