September BEST BUYS

September BEST BUYS

September 3, 2018 0 By Smartshopperdaphne

September is a great month to save because you have summer clearance sales, the tail end of Back to School sales and Labor Day sales. So many deals happening all at once! Here’s what you should look for and what to avoid.

On your list of things to buy: grills and barbeque related utensils, particularly during the first week’s Labor Day sale. Some stores are slashing their prices by more than 50 percent.

And even though the weather isn’t screaming for you to go biking, your wallet will thank you for buying now. Retailers are dropping prices to clear space. So if you’re thinking of buying a new bike, for yourself or as a Christmas gift, September is the time to buy.

Since September is when Apple usually announce their new products, the old stuff goes on sale. That’s great for you because you can save big right now! Need proof? When Apple announced the iPhone 8, the previous generation instantly fell by $100.

Expect free coffee deals near the end of the month because September 29th is National Coffee Day. Lots of retailers celebrate with free cups of brew, so ask your favorite cafes and restaurants what they’ll be offering so you don’t miss out.

I’ll also have the freebies on my Facebook page, so keep watching for the deals.

Other national holidays bring free pizza! National Cheese Pizza Day is on September 5th and National Pepperoni Pizza Day is on September 20th. I’ve already seen awesome deals at Fired Pieand Half Moon Sports. But again, check my Facebook page throughout the month for more pizza freebies.

Remember, don’t let good deals put you in debt. Regardless of the deal, if you don’t need it, and you know you’re not going to follow up selling it as an investment, it’s best you leave it in the store.

Here’s what’s best left in the store this month:

New iPhones – Since a new generation of phones are expected to hit shelves in September, the only deals you should expect are on the older models.

Computers – The deals aren’t bad this month, especially with college students going back to school, but you’ll find better deals in October and even more during the Black Friday shopping season.

Fall Apparel – Right now, the apparel deals are on summer clothes. You’ll want to wait for Columbus Day sales in October for better sales.

TVs – It’s not a horrible time to buy TVs, especially if you’re looking for mid-sized ones. But if you really want a deal, be patient. Wait for the sales leading up to Black Friday.
